CORRECTION On page 44, the second sentence of the third paragraph should be deleted: “Deep geological repositories have been constructed and are operating around the world for various types of radioactive wastes.” Although there are various types of repositories for radioactive waste in development and operating, they are not all considered “Deep” Geological Repositories according to the World Nuclear Association’s definition. |

Moving Forward Together
The Nuclear Waste Management Organization (NWMO) submitted its Annual Report for 2007 to the Honourable Gary Lunn, Minister of Natural Resources, on March 27, 2008.
Minister Lunn tabled the 2007 NWMO Annual Report in the House of Commons on April 17, 2008. It was tabled in the Senate on April 29, 2008.
Moving Forward Together reviews the organization's activities during the year 2007 and includes a proposal for funding Adaptive Phased Management for approval by the Minister of Natural Resources.

Expert Panel Review of Proposed Funding Formula - NWMO Response
The 2007 Annual Report includes, for the approval of the Minister of Natural Resources, a recommended funding formula to pay for the Adaptive Phased Management approach. The proposed formula was submitted to a group of independent experts for review. Their assessment is presented here. The expert review panel members were: Jean-Paul Baillet – Secretary-General, ANDRA (French national Agency for Radioactive Waste Management Donald Carmichael – Financial Consultant, former Investment Banker, Power and Energy Group, Scotia Capital Inc. CORRECTION The biography provided for Advisory Council member Daniel Rozon on page 51 of the Annual Report should read as follows: Daniel Rozon is a retired Professor of Engineering Physics at École Polytechnique de Montreal. A fellow of the Canadian Nuclear Society, he is a specialist in reactor physics, with research interests in nuclear fuel management optimization. He was the director of the Nuclear Engineering Institute (l'Institut de genie nucleaire) for more than 15 years. |
