Exploring the Concept of "Community Well-Being"

The NWMO would like to ensure that the well-being of any community which agrees to host Canada's long-term management facility for used nuclear fuel will be fostered through the implementation of the project. The NWMO recognizes that ‘community well-being' can only be defined by the communities with which we engage, but that models and experiences from people who have experience engaging communities in dialogue about community well-being can help in learning more about this concept and how it can be best operationalized. The NWMO is interested in staying abreast of evolving practices and learning about experiences with community well-being in Canada and around the world. With this objective in mind, the NWMO has commissioned a series of papers and a workshop. We invite you to review the material and share your thoughts as discussion on this important topic continues.
