Implementing Adaptive Phased Management from 2012 to 2016
Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts with the NWMO!
The mission of the Nuclear Waste Management Organization (NWMO) is to develop and implement, collaboratively with Canadians, a management approach for the long-term care of Canada’s used nuclear fuel that is socially acceptable, technically sound, environmentally responsible and economically feasible.
To support this responsibility and to demonstrate our commitment to transparency and accountability, the NWMO publishes an annual update to its five-year business plan, titled “Implementing Adaptive Phased Management 2012 to 2016”. The Plan is regularly assessed, strengthened and redirected as appropriate, in the face of new information and comments we receive through our engagement initiatives. We report our progress in the NWMO’s Annual Report published every March.
A draft of the 2012 to 2016 Plan has now been released for public comment. Below are five questions we are asking Canadians to consider as they review the Plan. We invite you to share your thoughts with the NWMO.
