Catherwood, Lorne

In my younger years busy raising a family I worked in uranium mines for 7 years, and believe that it is the only safe fuel of the future is uranium. In fact we should be building them now. You asked "what to do with the used nuclear fuel? Why not shoot it by rocket into the Sun? Safe and permanent, gone forever? With the cost of firing payloads into space becomming less expensive daily, and there is no need to have anything aboard but the spent fuel, the cost of a simple rocket with a one way capable shell can be relatively low. Beats keeping it here with the costs involved and the possibility of spillage and contamination of a site where it is stored.

Could you kindly advise if this is not a reasonable way to get rid if it? Lorne C.
