Placing nuclear waste in deep disposal does not eliminate problems with it, it merely creates the illusion of "management" because we can no longer see it. Rocks allow the passage of water, regardless of whether we can see it or not and with that water, will go the nuclear waste. The Swan Hills Waste Disposal Unit in Alberta is an example of waste disappearing from Alberta but it will resurface somewhere East. I do not believe we know enough about the passage of groundwater to permit burial into deep reservoirs.
