Join a local working group: Help shape Canada’s plan for used nuclear fuel
The Nuclear Waste Management Organization (NWMO) is inviting volunteers to express interest to join one of two working groups for Canada’s proposed deep geological repository for used nuclear fuel.
The two regulatory working groups will provide input on regulatory studies and processes as part of the regulatory decision-making process. The two working groups will focus respectively on human environment (topics related to various community well-being and safety aspects) and environment (covering various environmental aspects, including land, water and air).
Each working group will have three to five volunteer seats available.
Criteria to participate and expected commitment
Volunteers must reside in or near to Wabigoon Lake Ojibway Nation, Ignace, Dryden, or Melgund. Working group sessions will begin in early 2026 and be held on a quarterly basis.
